01 / The material
Begin with the stone.
Follow its movement.
The Star Murti Museum, the Jaipur workshop behind Alvora, made this completed commission in Udaipur Green Marble. The selected block has a deep green field crossed by rust-and-cream mineral movement.
The workshop photographs below belong to this console. They show its material and making, rather than a digital reconstruction. For a future commission, stone selection begins again: colour, movement, finish and available block references are considered against the intended form.

02 / The making
Four volumes.
Two pairs. One gesture.
Four rounded volumes come together as two paired supports beneath the elongated tabletop. The rough forms are shaped and refined individually; the finished stone brings their contours and mineral pattern back into view.
These records document this piece, not a standard base system or an installation specification. A new console needs its own review of dimensions, support, connections and site requirements.

03 / The detail
An elongated line.
A singular surface.
The finished tabletop has a continuous, rounded perimeter. Seen close to the stone, its green field is layered with cream and rust tones; viewed as a whole, those details become part of the console’s larger silhouette.
The original photographs are presented without changing the proportions of the object. The installed view at the top of this page shows the completed piece in its London setting.

For your own space
Commissioning a
marble console.
This project can begin a conversation, but it is not a stocked product or a fixed specification. Bring the setting and the direction you have in mind.
Read the stone commission guide →Start with the room.
Share a photograph or plan, the intended placement and approximate dimensions with units. Final size, weight, support and fixing requirements are reviewed for the individual project.
Find the material direction.
Describe the colours and surface character you prefer. Suitable stone, available block references and finish are discussed before specifications and a quotation are agreed.
Plan the journey.
For a US or other international enquiry, include your city and postal code. The quotation must clarify packing, freight, insurance, import responsibilities, unloading and installation. Production and delivery timing are confirmed separately for each commission.
